Cooking Chili in a Crock Pot?

I have a church function on Sunday and was thinking about bringing Chili. Has anybody ever made chili in a crock pot?I always make it on the stove, but I am trying to find a better way to transport and reheat it at church. I was also thinking about making it on Saturday on the stove. Then Sunday morning throwing it in the crock pot and take to church. That way the chili can heat up during church service. I always think stuff like chili is better the next day. Thanks for the help.
