Will people respect OJ Simpson after he dies?

I'm just curious. Before Michael Jackson died, people hated me and thought he should of went to prison for child molestation. But now that he died, people are saying he was the best pop music artist ever, and don't even want to talk about his arrests and trials he had. Now, that makes me think. If OJ Simpson dies, will people ignore the murder trial and the robbery case, and say stuff like he was the best football player ever?
